My Personal Background
I was born in Fiji and moved to New Zealand when I was five years old. I have now lived in Auckland for over 20 years. My family first settled in Avondale, and since 2017 we have been living in Henderson. West Auckland has truly become home for me, and I have built strong personal and community connections here over the years.
My Connection to Waitakere
Having lived in West Auckland for many years, particularly in Henderson since 2017, I have a strong understanding of the local community and its needs. I know the area well, including its schools, community centres, local businesses and transport routes. Being locally based allows me to provide reliable, responsive and personalised service to clients within the territory.
My Work Background
I previously worked at 2degrees for two and a half years, serving customers at both the Westgate and Henderson stores. This role gave me valuable experience in customer service, communication and problem-solving.
I am currently in my final year of university, which has further developed my organisational skills, professionalism and commitment to excellence.
I have also previously owned and operated a franchise for 10 months. This experience taught me a great deal about business operations, customer expectations, accountability and maintaining brand standards. I am bringing all this experience forward into this new chapter.
My Interests
I have always had a strong passion for cars, which has been an interest of mine from a young age. I also follow several sports including basketball, Formula 1, cricket and rugby.
In addition, I have a keen interest in technology and enjoy staying up to date with new developments and innovations.
My Involvement with the Community
I am actively involved in the Pooja Cultural Centre Trust and have also been involved with the Shree Ram Mandir in Henderson. Community involvement is important to me, and I value staying connected and contributing where I can.
What drew me to a Freedom franchise
What drew me to a Freedom franchise was the opportunity to combine my passion for driving, helping people, and building meaningful connections within the community. I am particularly motivated by the ability to provide a service that supports independence, reliability and care for clients who rely on safe and professional transport.
I bring strong customer service experience, professionalism, reliability and a genuine interest in people. I take pride in being organised, approachable and attentive to detail. My previous franchise experience has also strengthened my understanding of responsibility, accountability and maintaining high standards.
For me, great customer service is about trust, consistency and genuine care. It means listening carefully, being punctual, maintaining clear communication and always going the extra mile. I believe customers should feel comfortable, respected and valued at every interaction. Building long-term relationships based on reliability and professionalism is very important to me.
Freedom has been a godsend to me. Trapped without transport and a work site not covered by public transport, I was in a quandary about how to get to work. Then I saw an ad for Freedom. Problem solved. My driver picks me up at Silverdale and takes me to work then returns me home. He is always punctual and the vehicle is always immaculately clean. Awesome! Thank you Freedom!

My elderly mum is now quite vulnerable, and certainly not able to drive and so Gavin has been a godsend, not only taking mum to and from appointments but also staying with her to make sure information is passed on to me when I can’t be there.
