Hi, my name is Julian Smith and I am the proud new owner of Freedom Companion Driving Services NZ Ltd. I was born in Wellington, but I have lived in Christchurch for the last 15 years. I also have three adult children.

My interests include Football and Golf, travelling overseas, reading, movies, trying to keep fit and spending time with friends and family. I have had a varied career, I joined the Army after leaving school and worked in Singapore for 2 ½ years with the military. I then became a Police Officer, I have owned a Supermarket, worked as a project manager in Christchurch rebuilding after the earthquakes, I am a experienced franchisor having been a regional owner for At Your
Request (Wellington and Christchurch) and recently I was the owner of Mr Green New Zealand.
Most recently I was a property manager for Kidsfirst Kindergartens and after 4 years in that role I decided to move back into franchising. I am passionate about franchising because it gives me the opportunity to work with a group of hard-working individuals; who are passionate about their work and their clients is an excellent opportunity.

I am proud of our team of 39 franchisees and drivers and will be adding new members to our team on a regular basis. This means that we will be available to assist new clients with their transport needs in new territories in the near future. We have franchisees starting in 2 new territories Invercargill and Eastern Bays in Auckland, and I look forward to these new franchisees joining our team.
